Around a decade ago, I joked to myself that the less sporty someone was, the funnier it looked when they wore Athletics Department gear. That thought became the seed for The Dudes Unathletics Department.
I designed and art-directed the capsule around a fake varsity swagger and ironic team spirit.
Simply adding an “S” to “Unathletic” gave it a unique tone, more playful, more searchable, and somehow more memorable.

Stoney began as my spin on The Dudes’ mascot, a tongue-in-cheek riff on Smokey the Bear.
Stoney became a recurring character, culminating in Stay Green, a sustainable line made with bio-fabrics
from fair-trade suppliers.
